Manchester United have been connected with a host of strikers, midfielders and defenders in the lead up to the January transfer window, but right now, as Sir Alex Ferguson continues to deny the club have any realistic targets in mind, it's the current players that seem to be hogging the transfer spotlight.

Danny Welbeck was reportedly refusing new terms on his contract, while Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba are stalling talks, Ferguson himself has confirmed.

Meanwhile, at the older end of the scale, the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen and Ryan Giggs all have deals running down at United, and the Scot will be hoping to shore up any outstanding contracts to give his team a long term plan along with a short term one.

Untied have never been the type of club to let go of a potential talent, but at the same time Ferguson has never been a manager to give in to high demands from players who he feels aren't worth it.

And with that in mind, IBTimes UK looks at the six players Ferguson seems to be a lot more concerned with than finding players from other clubs this month.
