Megan Thee Stallion Says She Wants to Be the 'Mariah of Summer': 'I'm Not Playing'
From perfume to a new Tina Snow album, Megan is building a 'Hot Girl Universe' designed to make summer synonymous with her name

Megan Thee Stallion wants her name to become as inseparable from summer as Mariah Carey's is from Christmas, and she insists she is completely serious about making it happen.
'I want to be the Mariah of Summer,' the 31-year-old rapper told InStyle in a new interview, explaining that Carey immediately takes over once the festive season approaches.
Megan singled out 21 June as the moment she wants people to make the same connection with her. 'As soon as summer starts, boom, it's Megan,' she said, before adding: 'I'm not playing.'
Megan Wants to Own an Entire Season
The ambition builds on a phrase Megan has already spent years turning into part of her identity. 'Hot Girl Summer' exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 2019, becoming a meme, lifestyle slogan and eventually an official Megan Thee Stallion song featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.
Seven years later, she is trying to turn that momentum into something much bigger than one track. This summer, Megan entered the fragrance industry with Hot Girl Summer Eau de Parfum, a limited-edition unisex scent created with Coty.
The perfume combines coconut milk, orchid and vetiver and arrives in a flame-shaped bottle designed to match the fiery branding Megan has built around the phrase. It joins a growing business portfolio that includes swimwear, pet clothing and toys, tequila and a Popeyes franchise in Miami Beach.
Rather than treating each venture as a separate endorsement, Megan has increasingly tied them back to the same Hot Girl identity, turning a phrase that began as a viral slogan into a broader commercial brand that now stretches well beyond music.
Megan calls the wider project her 'Hot Girl Universe'. 'I am Hot Girl Summer,' she told InStyle. 'So why not have a Hot Girl Universe?'
Tina Snow Is Coming Back
Music, however, remains at the centre of Megan's plans. The Houston rapper confirmed that another album is on the way and said it will mark the return of Tina Snow, the harder-edged alter ego introduced on her 2018 EP of the same name.
Megan described Tina Snow as a kind of armour — the persona able to say things that Megan Pete or Megan Thee Stallion might otherwise hold back.
The forthcoming project will also arrive during a new stage of her career. In August, Megan announced a partnership between her independent company Hot Girl Productions and Interscope Records.
The deal gives Interscope global distribution and strategic support while letting Megan retain full ownership of her masters and publishing.
From Hot Girl Summer to Hot Girl Universe
Megan already has the résumé to support her ambition. She has won three Grammy Awards and scored three Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits, including the Beyoncé-assisted 'Savage' remix.
But becoming the 'Mariah Carey of Summer' would mean turning herself into something more enduring than a chart presence. Megan is now linking music, fragrance, fashion, food and other ventures back to the Hot Girl identity she began building years ago.
The goal appears simple: when summer arrives, she does not want people merely thinking about a Megan Thee Stallion song. She wants them thinking about Megan Thee Stallion, full stop.
