The official end of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's nineteen-year marriage has taken a fresh turn. Just weeks after a Nashville judge finalised their divorce on 6 January 2026, reports have emerged that Urban is 'raging' over speculation linking Kidman to a high-profile executive.

According to RadarOnline, the country singer is struggling with the speed at which his former wife is being connected to a new suitor, particularly one with significant financial influence.

RadarOnline reported that MGM Resorts International chairman Paul Salem has expressed an interest in dating Kidman, following her divorce.

The report, which cites unnamed sources, says Kidman and Salem have mutual friends and have met in group settings, but are not dating, and suggests the speculation has upset Urban, as the former couple has put new custody arrangements in place.

Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban Divorce Court Order

Kidman, 58, and Urban, 58, are now legally divorced after a judge in Nashville, Tennessee, issued an order dissolving their marriage, according to reporting by LiveNOW from FOX, which cited a court filing. LiveNOW from FOX said the couple ended a 19-year marriage and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

RadarOnline reported that the pair filed for divorce in September 2025, citing 'irreconcilable differences,' and later reached what it described as an amicable settlement. LiveNOW from FOX also reported that the divorce paperwork cited 'irreconcilable differences,' referring to TMZ's reporting.

RadarOnline said both parties waived claims to child and spousal support, despite each reporting monthly incomes exceeding $100,000. The outlet also reported that Kidman was granted primary custody for 306 days of the year, with Urban having custody for 59 days, including alternate weekends.

In 2023, Urban told Fox News Digital that 'it's always family first' in his household, comments LiveNOW from FOX cited.

Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban And Paul Salem Rumour

RadarOnline reported that Salem has 'made it known within his social circle' that he is interested in dating the Oscar-winning actor. It said the pair have met twice in group settings and have not spent time together alone, with sources stressing there is no relationship and that Kidman is not actively seeking to date.

One source quoted by RadarOnline claimed Urban has been unsettled by the headlines, saying: 'Keith is raging at the idea of Nicole being linked to anyone so quickly, and the fact he is an older, distinguished multi-millionaire is only fueling that anger and jealousy at the prospect of them getting together.' The same source added: 'Even though the divorce was amicable on paper, it's still raw for him. Seeing her name connected to a powerful, wealthy executive has hit a nerve.'

A second source told the outlet Urban's reaction was driven by the timing of the rumours, saying: 'Keith knew the day when Nicole decided to move on would come, but he didn't expect speculation about her love life to begin so soon after their divorce was finalised.' That source added: 'He feels protective of his family and doesn't like the circus that comes with these kinds of romance rumours.'

Salem became chairman of MGM Resorts International's board in 2020, the company said in a March 2020 announcement that also described him as a member of the board at the time. MGM's release said Salem is a senior managing director emeritus at Providence Equity Partners and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Brown University. RadarOnline reported that Salem is among the owners of the Worcester Red Sox and said estimates of his net worth vary, ranging from around $58 million based on MGM shareholdings to closer to $25 million.

RadarOnline also quoted a source saying Kidman is focused on family and professional commitments, including the sequel to Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock.

Kidman has remained largely silent on the divorce and the subsequent dating rumours. She spent the recent New Year holiday in Australia with her children, seeking perspective before returning to Nashville. To be fair, navigating a public split after nearly two decades is quite a mess. The line between moving on and sparking a media frenzy is thin, and for now, Kidman seems content to walk it alone.
