The Fast and The Furious Star Paul Walker Laid to Rest Two Weeks After Tragedy

The Fast and The Furious star Paul Walker was laid to rest on Saturday (14 December) at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, two weeks after his death in a car accident.

Family and close friends attended a private, non-denominational ceremony at the Court Of Liberty, one of the cemetery's historical sites.

Dressed in the sombre colours of mourning, more than three dozen guests arrived at the cemetery where the 40-year-old star's remains were interred.

A picture of the handsome young actor was placed on an easel and an American flag was reportedly folded in a triangle and displayed during the ceremony, after which it was given to Walker's family.

With concerns that the funeral might be intruded upon by fans, paparazzi and onlookers, a green tent was set up ,offering some seclusion, while a pair of guards in white short-sleeve shirts, black berets and white gloves stood close by and provided a security escort to the mourners as they arrived and left the cemetery.

A source told Radar Online that the family "intends on dividing Paul's ashes between an urn and keepsakes."

A number of celebrities are buried at the iconic Hollywood Hills cemetery, including Michael Jackson, whose body is entombed at Forest Lawn's Great Mausoleum, and also Liberace, Lucille Ball, John Ritter and Brittany Murphy.

Walker died on 30 November after the Porsche in which he was a passenger hit a light pole and burst into flames in Santa Clarita, California. The driver of the Porsche GT Carrera, Roger Rodas, also died in the accident.

Earlier this week, the family claimed plastic road markers may have been responsible for the crash that killed Walker, after stunt experts claimed the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by Walker's friend hit the markers, called Bott's Dots, and careered out of control.

According to TMZ, sources close to his family said that having visited the site, the experts claimed the bumps may have caused the car to hydroplane, resulting in the driver losing control.
