Monaco royal Charlotte Casiraghi and boyfriend Gad Elmaleh dispelled rumours that they had broken up after three years when they were photographed together looking quite cozy.

As previously reported by IBTimes UK, US magazine PEOPLE reported that the 28-year-old princess and the 44-year-old French comedic actor had "abruptly split" after three years together. The magazine cited a source that said they had "drifted apart over their careers." The couple has a 17-month-old son named Raphaël.

The same source told the magazine, "He wasn't around enough — and she wanted a father for her son."

The couple first raised suspicions of a breakup in May when Casiraghi walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival without Moroccan-Born Elmaleh. According to French publication Voici, the royal returned to Paris after the film festival and checked in at a luxury hotel instead of returning to the couple's apartment.

PEOPLE went on to report that two men had moved Casiraghi's belongings from the shared apartment, with the royal returning to Monaco with her son. She travelled to St Tropez days later to participated in the Athina Onassis Jumping competition, where she suffered a minor fall from her horse.

The Daily Mail noted that the princess was not seriously hurt during the accident and was able to get up and walk from the fall. However, she did appear "visibly shaken".

Casiraghi, a competitive horse jumper and model for Gucci, is the daughter of Princess Caroline and granddaughter of the late American-born Princess Grace Kelly. Her boyfriend, who has a 15-year-old son named Noé from a previous relationship, is a stand-up comedian and actor.

The private couple met at a 2011 party and became a standard topic for entertainment tabloids. Casiraghi and Elmaleh made their first public appearance in March 2013 along with members of her royal family at the Bal de la Rose, just months before she gave birth to her son.

In 2013, Elmaleh spoke to PEOPLE about their relationship, saying he was the "happiest man" and "lucky" to have her in his life.
