'I Need Some Direction': Presley Gerber Labelled His Mental Health Struggle 'Scary' Before Death at 27
Presley Gerber described his recovery, medication and efforts to support others

Presley Gerber had openly described his mental health battle as 'scary' and admitted he wanted more structure from the doctors treating him, saying, 'I need some direction.'
The model and son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber made the candid admission while discussing his treatment, medication and ongoing recovery in a lengthy social media video before his death at 27.
Presley Death at 27
Presley died on 20 September at an undisclosed rehabilitation facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
The medical examiner's report confirms Presley's death occurred at a rehabilitation facility but provides no further details about the circumstances.
Presley was born in Beverly Hills in 1999 and followed his mother's career path, signing with IMG Models at 15. But away from the runway, he increasingly became known for discussing his struggles with addiction, depression and recovery.
He Wanted More Direction From Doctors
In the video, Presley gave viewers an unusually detailed account of his treatment plan, beginning with his use of buprenorphine, which he said he took twice a day.
He also discussed benzodiazepines, saying their use had fluctuated depending on what was happening in his life. Presley referred to recent losses and acknowledged they had affected him.
He explained that these were among the main classes of medication he was taking, alongside other 'comfort meds' that he used when reducing certain prescriptions.
But what appeared to frustrate him most was the lack of a clear treatment structure.
'It sucks because I don't have as much direction as I'd like to have,' Presley said.
He then described his experience with psychiatrists, saying he had seen 15 doctors who would give him multiple medications with instructions to take different ones depending on how he felt.
Presley's response was blunt.
'I'm like, 'No, don't give me that much leeway.' I need some direction.'
In 2024, Presley revealed that he had battled a severe, multi-year opiate addiction. He also said he had survived a near-fatal fentanyl overdose that left him in a coma for several days.
He later entered rehabilitation and underwent treatment involving ibogaine.
Presley also spoke about depression and panic attacks, while a since-deleted Instagram video from December 2025 included further discussion of his prescription medications. Around the same period, he said he had reached five months of sobriety from alcohol.
Presley Used His Experience To Help Others
Rather than keeping his struggles entirely private, Presley increasingly turned them into conversations about recovery.
He launched 'Mental Health Mondays' on Instagram and discussed his experiences with recovery circles and building connections with people facing similar challenges.
'Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do,' he said.
Now, Presley has died while his official cause of death remains unknown. The medical examiner's findings are expected to provide further information, but until then, his previous struggles should not be treated as an explanation for his death.
