Prince Harry spotted celebrating birthday with former flame Cressida Bonas

Is Prince Harry rekindling his relationship with a former girlfriend? The royal, who just turned 31 was spotted with former flame Cressida Bonas out in the town celebrating his birthday.

Harry and Bonas, who dated for two years before calling it quits in 2014, were seen leaving a London pub after an hours-long birthday bash. Despite the two being spotted together, a source close to the royal said the former couple are just friends.

"She was invited along to a birthday party with the big group of people and that was it," a source told PEOPLE about the party, which was held at the Cross Keys pub in Chelsea. "They're friends." The source reportedly added that the freshly single 26-year-old actress did not return to the palace with Harry.

Another source reportedly told the Daily Mail: "Harry and Cress have always kept in touch and are fond of each other. They aren't together at the moment and although you can never say never ... Cressida is very fond of him but, well, he didn't quite cut the mustard. The issues that were there when they broke up haven't changed."

While the twosome may not give it another go, rumours have abounded that the fifth in line to the throne is hoping to reignite his relationship with another former girlfriend, 29-year-old South African lawyer Chelsy Davy.

"They decided they would like to give their relationship another chance," another supposed friend told Us Weekly. "They still have strong feelings for each other." The pair have allegedly been meeting up secretly since reconnecting in February.

Prince Harry recently returned to the UK after spending three months working in Africa. The royal spent his birthday returning to his royal duties during the Battle of Britain flypast on 15 September.
