Prince Harry's UK Return May Be Driven by Archie and Lilibet's Schooling, PR Expert Says

Prince Harry's return to Britain may have been influenced in part by his children's education, according to PR expert Lynn Carratt, after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the UK with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in late August.

The children have since begun the new school year in Britain, although their school has not been publicly identified.

Harry and Meghan returned with their children on 26 August 2026, six years after stepping back as working members of the Royal Family and establishing their primary home in California.

The couple are expected to retain their Montecito residence while maintaining a private base in Britain. Their return does not involve resuming official royal duties.

Prince Harry's UK Return Puts Schooling in Focus

Carratt, director of E20 Communications, told The Mirror US that a co-educational school could be a likely option for Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five.

Her assessment was based on the possibility that the siblings could attend the same school while receiving a British education in a setting offering privacy and security.

She cited Lambrook School as an example of the kind of environment that might appeal to the family. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis attend Lambrook, while their elder brother, Prince George, left the school this summer and began at Eton College on 8 September.

Carratt's comments should not be taken as confirmation of the Sussexes' choice. Harry and Meghan have not publicly named the school Archie and Lilibet attend, and no reliable public information establishes that the children are enrolled at Lambrook or any other specific institution.

Reports that Archie may attend Eton have circulated because both Harry and Prince William were educated there. However, a Sussex representative said in 2025 that Harry had not put Archie's name down for Eton and had no plans to do so.

The distinction is significant because the basic fact of Archie and Lilibet attending school in Britain is now established, while the reasons behind their parents' choice of school and the identity of that school remain private.

Reports have also said the Sussexes intend to maintain ties to California rather than make a complete break from their life in the United States.

Any suggestion that the move will automatically lead to closer relationships with other members of the Royal Family should also be treated cautiously. No publicly reported reconciliation has occurred between Harry and Prince William since the Sussexes' return, and private family contact is not fully known.

Harry's relationship with his brother has been widely reported since the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties, particularly after the couple's 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and the publication of Harry's memoir, Spare, in 2023.
