Sony Xperia Z3 (D6653) has for long been in the rumour spotlight as numerous leaks about the device specifications, features and benchmark scores have surfaced online in instalments.

Though Sony has remained silent about the existence of Xperia Z3, prolific leakster @evleaks has reportedly confirmed some of the key features of the handset.

According to @evleaks, the Z3 D6653 will come with a 5.15in 1080p display (1080 X 1920 pixels) and powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.4GHz.

In addition, the handset is expected to feature Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM alongside 16GB of internal storage.

Sony's next-gen flagship phone will sport a 20.7MP rear camera and include a 2.1MP front camera for video calls, suggests the leak via Twitter.

Although the Xperia Z3 looks identical to the Z2 in terms of design and overall features, the former is said to be noticeably thinner than the latter at just 7mm thickness and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

There are no other details of Xperia Z3 available at the moment, apart from its widely speculated release date for September. Sony is also expected to launch a mini version of the device called Xperia Z3 Compact around the same time at the IFA 2014 event in Berlin.
