The line-up for Radio 1Xtra's Liverpool show has been revealed and it looks like Stormzy will be headlining. The East London MC, real name Michael Omari, said he was felt "honoured" to appear at the show.

The headline slot will cap off a phenomenal year for Stormzy.

In the last 12 months alone he has made UK chart history with his freestyle WickedSkengMan 4, scored a top ten hit with Shut Up and received a shout out from Adele and featured on the track for the new film Brotherhood.

British stars including Giggs , Lady LeShurr and Wretch 32 are also expected to take to the stage at the annual event while Damian Marley, Desiigner and Sean Paul will also bring the international flavour to the line-up.

Sean Paul, who played the event a couple of years ago too, said: "The crowd were nuts and I love shows like that. Mad crazy vibes. Looking forward to doing it all again this year. Dopeness!"

Fans can get their hands on tickets via 1xtra's website when they go on sale on Monday 5 September during Charlie Sloth's show at 18:00.

The show – which is now open to all ages – will be hosted by 1Xtra DJ family including Charlie Sloth, A.Dot, MistaJam, Yasmin Evans and DJ Target.

"1Xtra Live is the biggest urban live event in the country where we get to see some of the most exciting and credible talent play the main stage," Sloth said. "And this year is even more special as it's at the Echo Arena - one of the best arenas in the country – and my spiritual home."

1Xtra Live will take place ECHO Arena on 8 October.
