The 2026 Super Bowl delivered an unusual split-screen moment as the official halftime show and a rival broadcast played at the same time, almost as though forcing viewers to choose between two different productions. As a global cultural event that goes well beyond sport, the halftime show typically attracts huge television audiences and social media engagement.

The Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks took place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on 8 February 2026. At halftime, the Patriots were trailing by nine points, setting the sporting backdrop for a globally watched break in play.

Where And When To Watch The Super Bowl Halftime Show

The halftime show aired during the scheduled Super Bowl interval, shortly after the second quarter ended. Viewers could watch it live on NBC or stream it simultaneously on Peacock, depending on their location and access. The show formed part of the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show branding for Super Bowl LX.

Puerto Rican music star Bad Bunny headlined the Super Bowl halftime show for the first time, becoming the first solo Latino artist to take the main stage. He opened with 'Tití Me Preguntó' and performed on a field styled to resemble a sugar cane setting linked to Puerto Rican life. The production blended high-energy music with cultural elements tied directly to his heritage.

Several well-known figures appeared during the halftime set,, with Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga each joining Bad Bunny on stage to sing. Actors Pedro Pascal and Jessica Alba, rapper Cardi B and singer Karol G were also present. Earlier in the day, Charlie Puth and Green Day performed at separate pregame events linked to the Super Bowl programme.

Turning Point USA's Rival Halftime Show Explained

At the same time as the official performance, Turning Point USA staged a competing broadcast titled the 'All-American Halftime Show'. For those unfamiliar, TPUSA is a conservative political organisation based in the United State founded in 2012 by activist Charlie Kirk. It primarily focuses on engaging young people, particularly students, with conservative ideas. The group is known for its presence on university campuses, large-scale events, and heavy use of social media. TPUSA promotes positions centred on limited government, free markets, and what it describes as traditional American values.

The conservative organisation had announced the event after Bad Bunny was confirmed as the NFL's halftime headliner, with tthe alternate show being promoted as an option for viewers who did not want to watch the Super Bowl halftime performance.

TPUSA Lineup And Streaming Issues

The Turning Point USA show featured performances from Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett. It was planned to stream on social media platforms including X and YouTube, but organisers later confirmed it would not be available on X due to licensing restrictions. Viewers were redirected to the organisation's YouTube channel at around 8PM ET, shortly before halftime began.

The late announcement about streaming access led to frustration among some viewers. Social media posts described confusion over where to watch and questioned why the licensing issue was not addressed earlier.
