Fans have witnessed heaven, hell, angels, demons and what not on Supernatural, but the one person who is most referenced in the fantasy horror series is missing, or it could be that he simply does not exit. Still confused as to who we are referring to? We are talking about God.

In Supernatural season 11, Sam and Dean unveiled a new threat called Darkness – God's sister – and ever since her appearance, she is hell bent on taking revenge from his brother for locking her away. In the previous episode, there was a major face-off between Amara and his angel-turned devil cousin Lucifer. Amara referred to Lucifer as her nephew and said that he has changed.

To which Lucifer replied, "You were safely sealed away. You can wish you had stayed there." He then uses his Hand Of God to defeat her, but fails in his attempt as she is not affected by it. She then told him, "I think you and I need to have a nice long chat..." and took him captive.

Back in Amara's cave Lucifer pointed out that he could be of use to her and explained, "We both have an axe to grind with God. I know his soft spot, he cannot handle us both." But Amara denied his offer and said that she trusted him once and was betrayed.

"I did trust you once, you and my brother conspired to seal me away... for aeons. But you are right you might be of some use to me... As God's favorite, his first son you may be the one thing in all of creation that he still cares about. The one thing that could finally make him show himself, so that I could confront him and he can acknowledge the wrongs he has done to me."

"And then he can witness the utter destruction of all his creation, before he himself is swept away."

Lucifer then replied, "You are expecting him? Well I wouldn't wait up.. I am pretty sure he caught the last train out." But a determined Amara added, "We will see." She then attacked Lucifer, who was seen screaming in pain.

Speaking about God, Showrunner Jeremy Carver previously told TV Line: "The idea of God and, 'Where is God? Will God show himself?'...will be heavily debated."

So what do you think, will God appear to save Lucifer? Can Amara draw him out? It seems like season 11 will surely build towards the appearance of the almighty in the finale episode. The show has currently gone on a hiatus and will return with the next episode on 27 April at 9pm EST on The CW. Episode 19 is titled, The Chitters, and its synopsis reads as follows:
