Tom Hiddleston 'embarrassed' after Taylor Swift reportedly calls off their 3-month romance

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston have reportedly split after dating for three months. Apparently, the Thor: Ragnarok actor is "embarrassed" that the Blank Space hitmaker dumped him because he wanted their romance to be public but she was against it.

"It was an amicable split," a source told People.

"She was the one to put the brakes on the relationship," a source told Us Weekly. "Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection, but Tom didn't listen to her concerns when she brought them up."

Moreover, the 35-year-old actor is "embarrassed that the relationship fizzled out," the source added.

The break up comes just a day after it was reported that the 26-year-old singer was "uncomfortable" about walking the red carpet at the Emmys with Hiddleston. Besides, it was previously reported that Hiddleston could just be using the 26-year-old for "publicity". The songstress has never walked the red carpet with any of her past boyfriends.

"Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private. Tom's need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable," a source told the Daily Mail.

"She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons. Taylor is an independent young woman and doesn't feel like she needs a boyfriend to make her complete," the source added.

According to The Daily Mail, the couple have not been pictured together since July. The duo first confirmed they were dating when photos of the two of them kissing on a beach in Rhodes Island surfaced on the internet on 15 June.
