A California student holds a world record of having the longest tongue, double than the normal size. The tongue is 3.8 inches (9.75 cm) long from tip to top lip.

Tapper, who made the world record of having longest tongue in 2012 Guinness Book, was quoted by Metro as saying "some girls/women have screamed and jumped back and if there are other people around the person who saw my tongue will tell the nearest next to them".

She said 'I'll often get asked questions like, 'Can you touch your nose or elbow?' and 'Do you choke people when you kiss them?'" However, she said she always got a positive reaction on showing her tongue to the people.

Her tongue has been considered long enough or equivalent to an average chocolate bar.
