"While we are still investigating the incident, we believe that it is best to share what we know now," Disqus' chief technology officer Jason Yan said.

The contract comes as Equifax faces fierce criticism over a major data breach that affected over 145.5 million users.

The National Internet Exchange of India described the hackers' claim as "audacious".
