Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring the situation of Celta de Vigo star Michael Krohn-Dehli regarding a summer move to White Hart Lane as a free agent, according to reports in Spain.

The 31-year-old Denmark international is out of contract at the La Liga side at the end of the season and looks ready to make a move away rather than committing his future to the club with a new deal.

Even though Celta are understood to be interested in keeping him, Krohn-Dehli is has been free to negotiate his departure to another club since January.

And while a number of La Liga sides have approached the midfielder's agent to know his intentions, Spanish newspaper AS claimed Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs side have also made contact to express their interest in the player. According to reports, the North London club will have to battle Malaga, Villarreal and Sevilla for his services.

Even though the Denmark international originally played as a forward, in a role behind the striker, during his time at Ajax and Brondby, his manager last season - one Luis Enrique, now in charge at Barcelona - played him in a deeper midfield role.

The versatile star has been a leader of Celta this season, starting 24 out of 26 La Liga games, while scoring one goal and providing four assists.

Pochettino, who knows La Liga well from his time both as a manager and player at Espanyol, is said to be interested following Krohn-Dehli's impressive performances and is considering purchasing him this summer.

Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb have thrived in the middle of the park at White Hart Lane this season but with Paulinho and Etienne Capoue's futures at the club uncertain, the Argentine manager is likely to strengthen his midfield once the season ends.

Nevertheless, earlier in March, other reports in Spain claimed Spurs have also made an approach to Malaga for holding midfielder Ignacio Camacho.
