Real Madrid have yet to make their one marque signing this summer and reports in Spain suggest that Jose Mourinho must sell to buy this summer. The Portuguese tactician has said that he wants to invest in a world class striker this summer and he will look to clear out some deadwood at the Bernabeu to fund the transfer. It is bellied that Madrid will allow Kaka, Fernando Gago and Lassana Diarra to leave this summer. All three have attracted attention from England and Italy with Kaka linked to AC Milan and Chelsea, Gago to Liverpool and reports suggest Diarra wants to return to Arsenal.

Reports in Spain's AS newspaper on Monday and Tuesday suggest that Jose Mourinho is ready to listen to offers for Brazilian play maker Kaka. The former World Player of the Year has struggled with form and injuries at the Bernabeu since his £65m move for AC Milan two years ago. It was believed that Jose Mourinho was ready to give Kaka a chance to prove his worth to the team but after a number of poor performances on Real Madrid's recent U.S tour Mourinho is said to have lost patience with the midfielder.

It is believed that Real Madrid will now listen to offers for the player with AC Milan and Chelsea leading the race to sign the player. It is reported that Kaka would welcome a return to the San Siro where he enjoyed his successes. However, Roman Abramovich is ready to show his hand and tempt Kaka into a move to Stamford Bridge this summer although it is unclear whether Andre Villas-Boas is keen on the player.

It is also believed that Jose Mourinho will allow Argentine defensive midfielder Fernando Gago to leave the club this summer. The Liverpool target has expressed an interest in return to Boca Juniors and if the price is right, Mourinho will allow the Argentine to return to the club where he made his name. Fernando Gago signed for Real Madrid in 2006 from Boca Juniors in a £20m deal but has failed to make himself a regular since Jose Mourinho's arrival.

Gago's agent has said that he will now be working on a move to allow Gago to return to Argentina and has suggested that the player will take a pay cut to make the deal happen. "Fernando's wish is to return to Boca. That is why we will try it. Look at how eager he is [to move to Boca] that I still cannot believe he will give up this much money," Lombilla told Ole.

Jose Mourinho is also ready to allow Lassana Diarra to leave the club with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham all keeping tabs on the midfielder's situation at the club. The French midfielder was left out of Real Madrid's recent tour of the U.S and Mourinho has reportedly told the player that he is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu. Diarra has attracted attention from England and it is believed Harry Redknapp is ready to make a loan offer for the player he managed at Portsmouth. Arsene Wenger is also said to be keen to bring the player back to the Emirates but will not pay the £20m that Real Madrid signed Diarra for back in 2009.
