Stassi Schroeder's recent diet confessions have divided the internet. During a recent interview, the reality star revealed that she followed a rigid eating routine, which also included starving herself, to stay skinny.

"I'm really lazy. I stay thin by trying to starve myself for the most part if I'm being honest," she told the Australia Daily Mail. The Vanderpump Rules star has also admitted that she prefers only one meal a day if she spends her day at home. "When I'm home in Los Angeles, it's like one meal a day."

However, Schroeder does realise the importance of physical energy that she needs while travelling. "But when I go out of town or on work trips, it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner," she added. Her extreme diet secrets have drawn major backlash on social media as many believe this will promote eating disorder among her young followers.

Reacting to her "starving" quote, Perez Hilton shared a speculative tweet assuming Stassi must be doing drugs. "She must be doing drugs, right? I couldn't survive on just one meal a day naturally if I tried," he wrote.

"I get light headed if I skip a meal, one Twitter user reacted. "It's just not even healthy to promote things like this. Its unrealistic & the world has such unrealistic views on how people are supposed to look. This poor girl starving herself I think there's a deeper issue that needs to be addressed" added another.

But her fans supported her "one meal" diet. "One meal a day is not starving yourself!! If you eat a balanced meal I do not see the big deal... some people are not able to eat more than once a day," one of her followers wrote. "I also eat one meal and some snacks throughout the day. It's not a huge deal. Not everyone eats the same way and that's okay," said another.

However, responding to the backlash, the reality star claimed that her quote about staying skinny was laced with sarcasm. "There was an element of sarcasm while I was doing that interview," the 29-year-old American television personality wrote.

Previously, in one of her blog, Stassi revealed her secret to stay lean and it included plenty of juices and water.

"I do [drink] juices every single day in addition to what I already eat, but when I have to look particularly lean, I cut out the solids and do juices & lots of water for a day. I like to sit in a sauna for a good length of time and sweat everything out. And let's not forget a good spray tan," she wrote in August for Skinny Confidential.
