Vinted Users Report Missing Balances and App Problems as Outage Complaints Mount
Major Vinted outage causes account access issues and transaction concerns for users

More than 6,000 Vinted users reported problems at the height of a major outage that left shoppers and sellers locked out of their accounts and struggling to access key parts of the marketplace. The disruption sparked a wave of concern on social media, with some users fearing they had been banned after suddenly being logged out and unable to get back in.
For sellers, the outage was particularly worrying because problems extended beyond simply browsing the app. Users reported difficulties accessing account information and balances, while others were unable to manage transactions or complete activities on the platform.
Vinted acknowledged that it was experiencing technical problems and warned that some activities could be delayed while its systems were restored.
Thousands Hit by Vinted Outage
The problems surged on Tuesday afternoon, with more than 6,000 reports recorded at around 4pm, according to outage‑monitoring service Down Detector. The number later dropped to around 2,500, although complaints continued as users struggled to regain normal access.
Some customers reported being unable to log into their accounts, while others encountered loading problems and error messages. The sudden loss of access led some users to believe their accounts had been suspended or blocked.
The reaction spread across social media, where frustrated customers asked whether other users were experiencing the same problem. Some said they had initially assumed they had been banned because they had been unexpectedly logged out.
Concerns Over Balances and Transactions
The most serious concern for sellers was access to money and transaction information held within their accounts.
Vinted allows users to receive money from completed sales through its platform, meaning an outage affecting account access can leave sellers temporarily unable to check their earnings or manage payments.
Reports of inaccessible or missing balances do not necessarily mean money has been lost. A technical failure can prevent account information from loading correctly even when the underlying funds and transaction records remain intact.
However, the inability to see a balance can be particularly worrying for users who have recently completed sales or are waiting for payments to be processed.
Vinted Confirms Technical Problems
Vinted announced that its team was working to restore the service and warned that the outage could delay some activities being carried out on the platform. Users were told that those activities would resume once the system was operational again.
Visitors attempting to access the website were also met with a server error, with Vinted advising customers to reload the page or try again later. The company apologised for the inconvenience as users waited for access to their accounts and transactions to return.
Users Fear They Have Been Banned
The confusion surrounding the outage was heightened by the fact that some users initially did not realise Vinted itself was experiencing wider problems. Being suddenly logged out can lead customers to believe their account has been restricted, particularly when they cannot immediately log back in.
Some users turned to social media to ask whether they were alone, while others shared suggestions for getting back into the app, including deleting and reinstalling it. The volume of complaints indicated that the problem was far wider than an isolated account issue.
A Major Disruption for Vinted
The scale of the outage is notable given Vinted's large user base. The marketplace has more than 105 million users worldwide, including around 17 million in the UK. For many people who use the platform to sell unwanted clothes and other belongings or find second‑hand items, the service has become part of their everyday online shopping.
The outage therefore affected more than simple access to listings. For sellers awaiting payments and buyers involved in active transactions, being unable to access their accounts created uncertainty over sales, balances and orders.
As Vinted works to restore normal service, affected users are likely to watch their accounts closely for balances, messages and transaction information to reappear.
