Beth's death is not the only one you will be mourning in season 5 as another important character may die when the AMC horror series returns.

The Walking Dead season 5 mid-season finale broke fans' hearts by killing the naive Beth Greene. But there are chances that fans will be in for another shock, as show creator Robert Kirkman has hinted that Daryl Dixon may not stay safe when the zombie thriller returns in February.

During an interview with CNN's Gustavo Valdes, the graphic comic writer spoke about the safety of the characters of the show and how they maintain the secrecy around the series's plot.

And when asked by the show anchor about any character's safety in TWD, he immediately replied, "No, no one is safe, definitely not. Looking at you Norman Reedus."

His announcement has shocked fans as they are still reeling under the shock of Beth's death. They had been hoping she would form a romantic angle with the crossbow bearer.

Daryl shared a strong connection with Herschel Green's youngest daughter before she was kidnapped. He had tried everything he could to save her from the creepy Atlanta hospital but sadly failed in rescuing her alive.

He was distraught at her sudden demise. This pain and sorrow may turn him into a weaker warrior in the zombie infected land and he could, perhaps lose it forever.

This is not the first time Kirkman has talked about Daryl's death. He gave a similar statement in June this year.

"By the end of that episode you're going to have a much better understanding of what's going on with them and why they're so important to the show. Oh, and Daryl dies," he told Entertainment Weekly.

The Walking Dead Season 5 returns with the rest of the episodes on February 8 on AMC Networks.
