The Walking Dead season 5 is just days away from its grand premiere and fans are all excited to see the after events of the Terminus where Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, and the rest of the group were trapped.

Season 5 of AMC's zombie horror drama begins right after the season 4 finale and will focus on the escape route of the group from the claws of the Termites (who fans suspect are the Cannibals).

Meanwhile, Andrew Lincoln teases that in season 5 the real threat is from humans and not from the zombies.

The series is based on Robert Kirkman's graphic comic book of the same name and describes the story of the survivors who are trying to grab the dwindling resources in the post apocalyptic zombie world.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln teased that the upcoming season is more about humans fighting humans rather than humans fighting zombies.

"It's a grown-up show this season. And some of the violence is moving into a territory where it's human violence, the most scary aspect of this show.

"In fact, some of the most life-like moments are the zombies now. And I think that that's a huge change. It feels real after these people have been inhabiting this world for two years, you know? The people left are going to be just as equally pragmatic and brutal, and tough, and resilient. So the clash in this season, and the conflict and the fear and the terror comes directly from the humans."

The synopsis of episode 1 titled No Sanctuary reads: "The true motives of the Terminans come to light; Rick and the others end up in a situation."

The premiere episode is touted as the most powerful episode yet from the series and has garnered rave reviews from critics who already watched it ahead of its actual day of release.

In its premiere review, the New York Daily News wrote: "As the premiere opens, the Termites are holding Rick, Daryl (Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and most of the others in a railroad car. The Termites' plan for them quickly becomes clear, and let's just say it won't win any humanitarian commendations."

The Walking Dead season 5 premieres on Sunday, 12 October, in the US and on Monday, 13 October in the UK.
