Melissa McCarthy is at it once again, reprising her role as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. The funny-woman was spotted in New York on 12 May dressed as the Trump administration official.

Onlookers whipped out their phones to grab footage as the Spicer impersonator cruised along the city streets on her signature motorised podium. She was spotted yelling at cars to get out of the way as she rode down 58th Street and outside the CNN building.

According to Reuters, the gimmick was for a shoot for Saturday Night Live, on which McCarthy earned widespread praise for her portrayal of the government mouth piece.

The shoot is expected to be part of the Spy actress' upcoming skit on SNL slatted for 13 May. Two days before the sighting, the show released a video of McCarthy lip-syncing I Feel Pretty as she sat through makeup sessions to transform into Spicer.

When asked what he thought of the actress' impersonation of him, the press secretary told reporters in February that he thought it was "funny" but suggested she "could dial back" some of the exaggerations.

As the Bridesmaids actress gained popularity for her act, Spicer later told a CNN correspondent that he did not have time to catch up with the show. "I'm usually fast asleep by the time that comes on," Spicer said. "I'm in bed, get up, go to church next day, and look ahead."
