Wayne Rooney appears to be getting his marriage back on track with wife Coleen, with the couple reportedly planning on renewing their vows next summer.

The Rooneys – who married in a lavish ceremony in Portofino, Italy, back in 2008 – are planning to restate their love with another bash while the Everton attacker's former England teammates attend the 2018 World Cup.

The Sun reports that Coleen, 31, believes her husband has finally learned his lesson after she ditched her £500,000 wedding rings following his drink-drive arrest, when he drove party girl Laura Simpson home after an alcohol-fuelled night out in Cheshire.

Wayne is allegedly hoping that Coleen, who is expecting the couple's fourth child, will begin to wear her jewellery again.

A source has claimed that Coleen has forgiven her husband "deep down", and is giving him another chance despite it not being his first indiscretion. In September 2010, it was revealed that Wayne spent family money on secret hotel sessions with £1000-a-night prostitute Jennifer Thompson while Coleen was pregnant with their first son Kai in 2009.

The insider told the publication: "To say it's been a rough ride for both of them in recent months is an understatement. But we've been told they plan to renew their wedding vows next summer – maybe in Barbados.

"We were astonished as Coleen is no fool and a pretty tough cookie. He is just relieved to have another chance," they added.

The report comes as the pair were spotted waiting for their chicken in Nando's in Disbury last week with their three sons Kai, Klay and Kit.

Television presenter Coleen appeared to be standing up while waiting for the food, while a somewhat downcast Wayne sat down on a leather bench.
