Who is Casey Wasserman? Behind the LA Olympics Boss' Connection to Ghislaine Maxwell in New Epstein Files
Casey Wasserman 'deeply regrets' flirty email exchange with convicted British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell

Casey Wasserman, the chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, has appeared in a massive new trove of documents related to the late convicted sex offender, trafficker, and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Among the records are decades-old, flirty email exchanges with Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted British socialite who a jury found guilty of acting as the 'primary recruiter and groomer' for Epstein's sex trafficking ring.
But who exactly is Casey Wasserman, and how is he connected to Maxwell? Following the Department of Justice's (DOJ) release of over three million investigative files, we are looking into the 2003 correspondence that has prompted a public apology from the Olympic chief and raised questions about his past associations.
Who is Casey Wasserman?
Wasserman is an American entertainment executive and sports agent who serves as the founder and CEO of Wasserman, a global agency representing over 1,300 athletes and entertainers.
Beyond his corporate empire, he is the prominent Chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Organizing Committee, making him the primary 'face' of the city's upcoming Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
He comes from a storied Hollywood lineage as the grandson of legendary studio mogul Lew Wasserman, a heritage that helped propel his early rise as the youngest owner of a professional sports team in US history. Now, people are curious about the connection between Wasserman and Maxwell.
Casey Wasserman's Decades-Old Flirty Emails
In the newly released files by the DOJ on Friday, Wasserman's flirty email exchanged were among the three million files.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times, in an email from Maxxwell to Wasserman dated 2 April 2003, the convicted British socialite has offered the LA28 Chair to 'continue the massage concept into your bed ... and then again in the morning ... not sure if or when we would stop.'
Maxwell wrote again later that day, saying, 'Umm — all that rubbing — are you sure you can take it? The thought frankly is leaving me a little breathless. There are a few spots that apparently drive a man wild — I suppose I could practice them on you and you could let me know if they work or not?'
She wrote again a few days later, telling Wasserman that 'JE' says she should pick a week to go to Los Angeles and look at properties they can rent in Malibu that summer, and offers to bring Wasserman something from Paris.
Wasserman wrote back, 'I think you picking a week to be in LA is a really good idea ... The only thing i want from paris is you.'
The two continued to exchnage emails on 6 April. Maxxwell even offered to bring him food from London which Wasserman replied, 'Among all my desires, that combination is pretty low on the list ... xoxo'
She asks him what combination would do it for him, and he says, 'You, me, and not else much ...'
Afterwards, he explained the concept of June gloom, which is a famous California season fog. Maxwell asked him if it would be foggy enough, 'so that you can float naked down the beach and no one can see you unless they are close up?'
He replied, 'or something like that ...'
Casey Wasserman 'Deeply Regrets' Decades-Old Email
The chairman of the LA 2028 Olympics has immediately released a statement and said that he 'deeply regrets' the decades-old flirt email with Maxwell.
He said, 'I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light.'
Wasserman said that the email happened 'long before her horrific crimes came to light.' He also emphasised that he never had a personal or business relationship' with Epstein.
He added, 'As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.'
As the dust settles on the Department of Justice's massive document release, the focus remains on how these revelations will impact the future of the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
While Wasserman's apology seeks to frame the emails as a relic of a distant past, the proximity to a convicted sex trafficker has undeniably stained the 'clean' image of the Olympic organizing committee.
