The X-Files
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will return as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in The X-Files Fox

First set photos from Fox's reboot series The X-Files have leaked online.

According to a report in Just Jared, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were all smiles on the set of the reboot of their hit show The X-Files being filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their roles as Mulder and Scully, respectively in the Fox series.

For a scene in the show, Mulder was spotted kissing Scully on the cheek after stepping out of a car.

Another leaked image (via Twitter) gives us a complete look of the actors' characters.

Duchovny donned a pair of jeans and a jacket and looked exactly like Mulder, while Scully remained as dapper, but this time she donned a blonde look.

The X-Files creator and executive producer, Chris Carter and actors Duchovny and Anderson also took to Twitter and teased fans about the script.

While Carter and Anderson shared Mulder and Dana Scully's seats on the set, Duchovny's tweeted an image of a page from the script.

The six-episode season counts as the show's 10th season, and will air 13 years after the show ended.

"I think of it as a 13-year commercial break," Carter said in a statement when the new series was announced. "The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."

Details about the renewed season are being kept under wraps, but Anderson shed some light on the upcoming series.

"Apparently, we had a child, which was conceived in the episode I wrote and directed [sic], so I shouldn't be too shocked, but I kind of forgot about it for a while and had to be reminded...William is like 14 now, so I'm sure he'll show up at some point," she said. "That's about all I know."

Fox's X-Files return has also confirmed Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis to reprise their roles. Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish are also pegged as candidates to return for the reboot series.

The project will air in January 2016 on Fox.
