Xiaomi's much expected high-ender the Mi5 is likely to be launched during the summer of this year. It was expected to have been launched during a 23 April event at firm's China headquarters.

According to newer reports, the smartphone will sport impressive tech-specs, quashing an earlier report about the handset incorporating similar technical features to the currently existing Mi Note pro.

As per a report published in GizmoChina (that in turn quotes Weibo China), the Xiaomi Mi5 will feature the following key technical aspects:

  • 5.2in display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor
  • Built-in fingerprint scanning functionality for enhanced security
  • 16MP camera featuring Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS)
  • 4GB RAM
  • 3000 mAh battery

The apparent 4GB RAM within the Mi5, coupled with the Snapdragon 810 CPU should provide for users to easily indulge in high-end gaming, potentially competing with the likes of Apple and Samsung.

The latest news supports earlier reporting which hinted at the possibility of the Mi5's design having been finalised and an imminent launch.
