Zach Lavine's Wife Reacts To Viral Leaked Hot Mic Audio of Female Kings Reporters Talking About Her Husband

Zach LaVine's wife, Hunter, has reacted after a hot microphone caught several female reporters discussing the Sacramento Kings guard during the team's 2026 Media Day.

The Kings held their annual media event on Monday, 28 September, ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season. A clip from the event subsequently circulated widely on social media after microphones picked up an off-air conversation involving several female reporters.

The discussion initially centred on Ben Simmons, who was also attending the Kings' Media Day. One reporter described the veteran guard as 'cringe, cringe', while another joked that he was 'lucky he's so fine'.

The conversation then turned towards LaVine, with one reporter describing the two-time All-Star as 'hella fine'.

Another reporter offered a less enthusiastic assessment of the 31-year-old. While acknowledging his appearance, she said she found his personality irritating.

'I think his personality annoys the [expletive] out of me, so that's what makes him less fine,' the woman said.

'Zach's cute but his personality [expletive] annoys me. He just seems like hella like a (expletive). But he is beautiful.'

The comments quickly became an unexpected storyline surrounding the Kings as they prepared for the new NBA campaign.

Hunter Responds to the Viral Clip

Hunter LaVine appeared to respond to the incident on Instagram after the clip began spreading online.

Rather than issuing a lengthy statement, she initially shared the video on her Instagram Story accompanied by several laughing emojis.

She later added a short caption that appeared to reference the timing of the incident.

'a great start to the season!' Hunter wrote.

The reporters involved in the conversation have not been officially identified. Social media users have speculated about the identity of one of the women, but those claims have not been independently confirmed.

The exchange has nevertheless attracted considerable attention because the microphones appeared to capture a private conversation that was not intended to be part of the broadcast.

For Hunter, the response suggested she was willing to treat the unusual moment with humour, despite the comments involving her husband.

Lavine Enters Another Important Kings Season

The incident comes at the beginning of another significant season for LaVine, who is entering his third campaign with Sacramento.

The 31-year-old joined the Kings in February 2025 after Sacramento acquired him from the Chicago Bulls in a trade involving DeMar DeRozan, with LaVine subsequently becoming an important part of the team's offensive plans.

A two-time All-Star with the Bulls, LaVine has built his reputation around his scoring ability, three-point shooting and athleticism. He has also remained one of the NBA's most recognisable players since entering the league as the 13th overall pick in the 2014 Draft.

His future in Sacramento became an important talking point during the off-season after he exercised his $49 million (£36.6 million) player option for the 2026-27 season.
