The rapper has been charged with domestic violence and vandalism after allegedly attacking former girlfriend Daphne Joy.

50 Cent has cancelled an appearance at an Argos store in the wake of his arrest for domestic violence.

The rapper turned businessman had been scheduled to visit a Birmingham Argos branch to promote his new line of Street by 50 headphones.

But he cancelled due to what was described as "unforeseen circumstances".

He allegedly broke into her home in Toluca Lake, California, kicked her and caused over $7,000 (£4,600) of damage to her property.

Jackson dated Joy for three years and the model gave birth to his second child in 2012.

According to legal papers obtained by TMZ, 50 Cent has been charged with domestic violence and vandalism. If convicted, he faces up to five years in jail and $46,000 (£30,112) in fines.

On Twitter he had been arrested.

He is scheduled to appear in court on 22 July.
