Agents of Shield
Agents of Shield season 2 returns from its midseason break on 3 March Marvel

Marvel's Agents of Shield season 2 midseason premiere episode titled 'Aftershocks' airs this Tuesday, 3 March. A lot will be explored in the new episode including the aftermath of the combat with Hydra and discovery of The Inhumans.

According to TV.com, Skye's storyline will form a big part of the midseason premiere - with a focus on trying to figure out what, if anything, happened to Skye (Chloe Bennet).

When viewers pick up with Skye, she's reeling from the death of Trip (BJ Britt), who died when an earthquake destroyed the hidden temple the pair were exploring. In the comics, Skye's inspiration Daisy Johnson has the ability to harness the power of earthquakes, but Skye does not quite understand that power, states The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's a lot of her figuring out that, 'Oh, when I got upset down there, an earthquake happened, and I keep getting upset and that may be happening again,'" actress Chloe Bennet told TV.com.

"It's her exploring whether or not it is her that is creating these things, and then her dealing with what she has to tell the team, because people who have powers, from S.H.I.E.LD.'s perspective, are put on the Index. That's not really a place she wants to be, I don't think. It's dealing with admitting to her family. It's kind of like she's coming out almost as a superhero to her S.H.I.E.L.D. family and moving forward from there."

Another big reason for fans to be excited about the second half of season 2 is because it will also move towards linking up with Avengers: Age of Ultron.

"The story threads concerning the Inhuman population are shaping up to be the primary focus on S.H.I.E.L.D. leading up to Avengers: Age of Ultron debuting in theatres in a few months," states Screenrant.

After discovering an alien city with ties to his resurrection, Coulson and his team destroyed it before the forces of Hydra could claim its secrets, eliminating the villainous Whitehall (Reed Diamond) in the process. But new threats to the world have arisen, including Skye's father, Cal (Kyle McLachlan), who now seeks retribution against Coulson for stealing his revenge against Whitehall; a disturbing alliance between former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Ward (Brett Dalton) and Agent 33; the enigmatic Raina (Ruth Negga), who struggles with her transformation into something inhuman by the alien Obelisk and seeks vengeance; and Skye (Chloe Bennet), who developed mysterious new powers from the Obelisk but whose lack of experience with her new abilities may threaten the safety of those she loves.

Meanwhile, Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Mack (Henry Simmons) begin the next phase of a plan which seems to have grave repercussions for Coulson and his team, who are unaware that there's another mysterious force moving against them. And as Hunter (Nick Blood) is forced to make the biggest choice of his life, Coulson will find his mission threatened by this shocking endgame.

In the midseason premiere, "Aftershocks," Coulson's team must deal with the consequences of their war with Hydra as shocking revelations threaten to tear them apart, and Hydra makes a dangerous move that may involve a traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s midst.
