Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has often displayed a unique sense of style; her latest fashion-worthy moments came on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival 2013 and the amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala.

The 39-year-old former Miss World has quite the knack of picking outfits, colours and themes, with lay observers and fashion critics usually impressed. And now, Hollywood celebrities appear to have jumped on the bandwagon as well.

Latin singer/actress Jennifer Lopez was at the amfAR Gala in New York City last week and her choice of ensemble may have been inspired by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The 43-year-old JLo arrived at the Plaza Hotel in a figure-hugging metallic blue gown that bore an uncanny resemblance to the gown Aishwarya Rai wore at the Life Ball 2013 in Vienna, late last month.

In fact, except for a slight variation in style, it is difficult to spot the difference. JLo's Tom Ford creation is a high-collared and long-sleeved netted gown hugging her curves at all the right places. On the other hand, Bachchan's Roberto Cavalli designed dress has a green-blue tint with a lower neckline and fewer cut-outs.

Often referred to as the most beautiful woman in the world, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has bounced back in considerable style since the furore over her post-partum weight gain. The Indian actress received considerable criticism for her refusal to bow to pressure and return to a pre-pregnancy figure, sparking a worldwide debate over expectations from celebrity mothers.

The actress marked her 12th consecutive appearances at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, with a range of fashionable red carpet looks, including, a heavily embroidered black-and-gold Sabyasachi sari and a black lace-print Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture gown, among others.

After Cannes, the actress flew to London to join pop singer Beyoncé Knowles, actress Salma Hayek and Madonna for the Sound of Change Concert in Twickenham. She wore skinny black leather pants and a tailored blazer on top of a metallic blouse.
