Android 4.1.1 XXDLI6 - for the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 (model number i9300) is available. This is reportedly a test firmware by the manufacturers and for selected beta tests for the smartphone's forthcoming Android 4.1. Jelly Bean update; the South Koreans have confirmed an October rollout. Steps to Install Android 4.1.1 XXDLI6 for Galaxy S3

  • Download Android 4.1.1 XXDLI6 to a PC
  • Download Odin v1.85 to a PC
  • Turn device off and place it in Download Mode (press and hold Volume Down, Power and Home buttons till construction Android robot and triangle appears and then press Power again)
  • Start Odin on the PC and connect device while in Download Mode
  • In Odin, select these files in the order mentioned
    • Click on PDA and select CODE
    • Click on PHONE and select MODEM
    • Click on CSC and select CSC
    • Click on PIT and select .pit
    • Note: Ignore last three if such files are not found
  • Click Start in Odin to begin installation
  • After installation, device will restart. Unplug Galaxy S3 after Home screen appears and turn phone off again
  • Place phone in Recovery Mode (turn phone on by pressing Volume Up, Home and Power buttons)
  • Navigate to Recovery Menu and select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and confirm procedure
  • Re-boot system to boot into new firmware

  • In Odin, click on PDA and select root package file CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar
  • Start installation in Odin
  • After installation, device will restart. Unplug Galaxy S3 after Home screen appears

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is now rooted on Android 4.1.1 XXDLI6 firmware.
