Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla believes that their new summer signing Mesut Ozil can mark a new era, following the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho.

Cazorla, who was Arsenal's best player last season, linked up with his counterpart against Norwich for the first time this season after returning from injury which kept him out for more than a month. The early indications are positive for the Gunners who can now see the two players combine together and take the Arsenal midfield to an all new level.

The Spaniard is complimentary of the German and believes that he will have a major say in the success of Arsenal's season. Ozil has started in all Premier League and Champions League games following his arrival and has already notched up three assists in the league. The £42.5m summer signing from Real Madrid has won accolades from all and sundry and Cazorla believes that the fact that Ozil can win matches on his own is the quality that makes him special.

"We have got to know each other and I have to say that it is very easy to have a good understanding with a great player like him, since our playing philosophy is very similar. As the days go by we have a better association on the pitch. Personally I am very happy to have Mesut as a team-mate. He is a great signing and everyone enjoys the way he plays," Cazorla told www.arsenal.com .

"Mesut is a player of a different kind. He is a joy to watch and has a lot of talent. Like Zidane or Ronaldinho, he can be one of those players who marks an era. He is not the kind of player you are used to watching and he can win many games on his own. That's why he is a top player," he added.

Arsenal suffered their first Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund in midweek and have a Premier league fixture against Crystal Palace coming up in the weekend. The Gunners are currently top of the Barclays Premier League with 19 points and a win here will keep the pressure on their league rivals and will give them some much needed confidence ahead of their game against Liverpool next week.
