Olivier Giroud says he was frustrated not to be included in Arsenal's win over Hull but is glad the team won.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud admits he felt frustrated at not being able to feature for the club against Hull last weekend but insists he understands he can't play every game.

Giroud has been on fire for the Gunners this season with 10 goals to his name across the board. The France international has had a big hand in helping the side to top spot in the Premier League table but Arsene Wenger is well aware that his good run could easily be cut short by injury should he burn out.

Nicklas Bendtner received a rare start for the side as they took on Hull and the Denmark international scored within two minutes to help Arsenal to a 2-0 win. And while Grioud admitted to being disappointed at missing out on a place in the squad, he says that winning is the most important thing.

"It did feel strange (to be on the bench against Hull) and I was a bit frustrated because I really want to play every game," Giroud said in the Arsenal matchday program. "But the boss said he had reason to leave me on the bench because it is better to have a rest sometimes, but I am obviously just really happy that the team won the game."

Giroud also reserved special praise for Bendtner who had hoped for an exit from Arsenal in January, but now appears to be more settled in north London as he receives more game time from Wenger.

"We need everyone playing well to achieve our objectives this season and it is a really good thing for Nicklas and for his confidence," he explained.

"When we manage to play our game, it is always very difficult for the opponents because they have to defend deep and be compact."
