Avengers: Age of Ultron
What is Iron Man's future after Captain America 3? Marvel

Marvel seems to be doing a great job regarding their 'star player' Robert Downey Jr's involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No one expected that he will star in Captain America 3 post Avengers: Age of Ultron. And now, the star has hinted at the possibility of being a part of more future Marvel movies.

Recently, attending a BAFTA event, Robert Downey Jr was asked by Entertainment Weekly how many movies he expects to do with Marvel before his time is done.

Without giving a specific number answer, he told the reporter:

"You know, it may verge on double digits. But it will probably wind up being a little shy."

Reportedly, the two part Avengers 3: Infinity War will have a new roster of superheroes. Fans are pretty much expecting Captain America 3 to be Downey Jr's last appearance as Iron Man. But looks like the actor might just reprise his role as Tony Stark in subsequent films.

Meanwhile, talking about Marvel's Phase 3 lineup of films, Downey Jr told ComicBookResources:

"Being able to have Chadwick Boseman be announced for playing Black Panther, and that Marvel is going to have a female superhero – it's those things that it would have started creating an imbalance, I think, in just what's appropriate and right and feels like what the people deserve. And so I just think that Marvel has turned into this very kind of civilized, forward-thinking company, and it's just joyful to be a part of that."
