Before Johnny Galecki played geeky scientist Leonard Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory, he was famous for his role in ABC 's show Roseanne that ran from 1992 to 1997.
Roseanne is returning for a revival series in 2018, with reports claiming that many original characters will likely make a comeback. Fans are now left wondering if Galecki's character, David Healy, will return for fresh episodes.
According to TV Line, Healy will have a "strong presence" in the eight-episode continuation of the revival series.
The report has alleged that producers, including Sara Gilbert, Roseanne Barr, Whitney Cummings and sitcom vet Bruce Heldford, have quietly begun searching for a young actress and actor to portray the children of Gilbert's Darlene and Galecki's David.
ABC is yet to officially confirm the news, but TV Line has reported that the couple's daughter, 14-year- old Harris, will be the spitting image of Young Darlene, in both appearance and attitude. Their other child will be a boy under the age of 10.
The big question remains- Will Galecki's Big Bang Theory commitment make Darlene a widow? or whether he will have a role in his kids' lives? The Big Bang Theory star is yet to comment on whether he will return.
The revival series will reportedly resurrect John Goodman's character, Dan Conner – despite the shocking reveal in the Season 9 finale that he had died. A source close to the production told TVLine, "Dan is very much alive. They're going to pretend like it never even happened."
The American sitcom was lauded for its realistic portrayal of the average American family. The show centred on the Conners, a working-class family struggling to get by on a limited household income in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois.
The family consisted of outspoken Roseanne, married to husband Dan, and their three children: Becky, Darlene, and DJ. Later in the series, Roseanne becomes pregnant again and gives birth to a boy named Jerry Garcia Conner.
