Burger giant, Burger King, has announced it will pull all its beef burgers from public sale which were supplied by Silver crest meat processing plant in Ireland, following the discovery of large quantities of horsemeat in their burger products supplied to the burger chain and other leading supermarkets and food outlets.
Staff have been instructed to box up Whoppers and Angus burgers and ensure they are not sold to customers. Although Burger King said 'their burgers weren't contaminated and it was a precautionary measure'.
Burger King went on to say 'due to the runaway coverage of this story, they are switching to a different supplier for its British and Irish restaurants as a "voluntary and precautionary measure".
