Cardi B Breaks Silence on Stefon Diggs Split: Rapper Feels 'She Couldn't Trust Him'
Sources say rapper 'pulled back' weeks before Super Bowl LX

Cardi B reportedly ended her relationship with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs days before Super Bowl LX, with sources saying the rapper walked away the moment she felt she could no longer trust him.
A source close to Cardi told PEOPLE that the relationship had become unworkable. 'Things were getting too heated and complicated. Cardi is very no-nonsense,' the source said. 'The second she felt that she couldn't trust him, she pulled back to focus on her kids, her music, and tour.'
The couple's apparent split first drew public attention after the Super Bowl on 8 February, when Cardi and Diggs unfollowed each other on Instagram. Diggs' Patriots lost 29-13 to the Seattle Seahawks. Cardi, 33, had attended the game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, appearing as a guest during Bad Bunny's halftime show. She left before the second half, posting a video to her Instagram Stories from her car shortly after the interval.
The day before the game, an ESPN reporter asked Cardi if she had a message for Diggs ahead of the match. She replied 'good luck' and walked away without elaborating.

Sources Say Diggs Betrayed Cardi B Repeatedly
A separate source told Page Six the split took place 'a few days' before the Super Bowl and was not the first time the pair had broken up. The insider told Us Weekly, as cited by Page Six: 'They are always so up and down. This isn't the first time they have broken up.'
The same source said Diggs had 'betrayed her so many times' and that people around Cardi had repeatedly urged her to end the relationship. 'Her friends have been trying to show her that he is not right for her and that she deserved better,' the source added. Cardi is now 'single and putting herself out there again' and described as feeling 'free.'
The PEOPLE source noted the two continue to co-parent their son and that the situation between them is not entirely resolved. 'The door is not completely closed. They might reconnect in the future,' the source said.
Page Six also reported that Diggs was spotted at the Super Bowl with a woman identified as Pree, who is alleged to have previously had an affair with Cardi's estranged husband, rapper Offset.
An NFL-published video showed Diggs greeting the woman before kick-off. She was also seen on the field holding credentials linked to the Patriots' team hotel.

On 15 February, during the Los Angeles stop of her 'Little Miss Drama' tour, Cardi publicly acknowledged the split while defending Diggs against criticism from rapper BIA. BIA had posted a social media comment appearing to mock Diggs, referencing his number of children.
Cardi responded from the stage. 'Just because I ain't f---ing with my baby daddy doesn't mean you get to talk about my baby daddy,' she told the crowd, according to TMZ. She then performed 'Pretty and Petty', a track widely interpreted by fans as directed at BIA.
Cardi and Diggs welcomed a son on 4 November 2025, their only child together. Cardi is also mother to Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 17 months, from her marriage to Offset. Diggs, 32, has five other children with five other women, four of whom were born in 2025, according to Heavy.com.
The couple was first linked in October 2024. They made their first public appearance together at a New York Knicks game in May 2025, where they were photographed sitting courtside holding hands. Cardi confirmed the pregnancy in September 2025 on CBS Mornings, telling anchor Gayle King that Diggs 'just makes me feel safe and very confident and very strong.'
Before the Super Bowl, Diggs had hinted at a possible proposal, telling reporters: 'It's on the agenda, maybe, right?'
Cardi's 30-city 'Little Miss Drama' tour, supporting her second studio album 'Am I The Drama?', runs through 17 April 2026.
