3 Photos of Sean Andrew Pajarillo: Man Facing Homicide Charges Tested Negative for Booze After Fatal Rampage
Driver Cleared of Intoxication in Cebu City Tragedy

Paseo Saturnino Road in Barangay Banilad is usually packed with people enjoying good food and nightlife. But around 1 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, everything changed in an instant. The screech of tires and violent crashes broke the early morning silence, killing a young businessman and leaving the community reeling. What seemed like a driver who'd lost control became far more puzzling once police released their findings.
Sean Pajarillo drove the Toyota Innova that allegedly caused the deadly rampage. Medical tests have now cleared him of intoxication. In a case where the brutality of the driving often points to drunkenness, this revelation has shifted the focus of the inquiry toward sheer recklessness.
Clinical Findings Rule Out Intoxication for Sean Pajarillo
In the immediate aftermath of the crash, investigators sought to determine the driver's state of mind and physical condition. Police Lieutenant Colonel Jose Los Baños, the information officer for the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), confirmed that the medical examinations yielded unexpected results. Despite the erratic nature of the incident, hospital findings indicated that Pajarillo had no alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.
'The results came out negative,' Los Baños stated, confirming the absence of liquor. This key finding rules out alcohol as either a defense or an aggravating factor. The case will now proceed based on reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property. Authorities are wrapping up the paperwork to officially file charges against the driver, who's being closely monitored.

From One Paseo to Maria Luisa: A Path of Chaos
What happened that night reads like a panicked sprint through one of Cebu City's busiest shopping and dining areas. According to the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), the chaos started near One Paseo, a well-known lifestyle hub. Pajarillo's Toyota Innova first hit a parked Toyota Vios. That collision alone should have stopped everything right there. Instead, witnesses say he hit the gas, turning what could have been a minor fender-bender into something far worse.
Within seconds of that first crash, the vehicle slammed into Kingston Ralph Cheng as he walked along the roadside. The impact was brutal. Cheng was thrown against a nearby utility pole. Paramedics got him to a hospital as quickly as they could, but his injuries were too severe. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Under Guard at the Hospital
After hitting Cheng, Pajarillo didn't stop or call for help. He kept driving toward Maria Luisa Village, an upscale gated community in the area. His attempt to flee ended when he crashed inside the village gates, where authorities finally caught up with him.
Right now, Pajarillo is in the hospital, but this isn't a normal recovery stay. He's under hospital arrest, with CCPO TEU officers posted outside to make sure he doesn't try to leave before facing the legal process.

Reckless imprudence resulting in homicide is a heavy charge under Philippine law. If found guilty, Pajarillo faces prison time and will likely be ordered to pay financial damages to the Cheng family.
With intoxication ruled out, police are still digging into what actually caused him to drive so wildly that evening. As the investigation continues, local reporters are keeping close tabs on every new update.
