Chappell Roan Cuts Ties with Wasserman Agency After Learning of Epstein Connection
New government files revealed 2003 emails between CEO Casey Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell

American pop singer Chappell Roan has officially parted ways with Wasserman Agency, a major talent management firm. The decision followed the release of government documents revealing personal correspondence between the agency's founder, Casey Wasserman, and Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted sex offender and former associate of Jeffrey Epstein.
Roan announced her departure on social media, stating that her values did not align with the leadership of the firm. The release of the files on 30 January 2026 included email exchanges from 2003. These messages showed a friendly and flirtatious relationship between Casey Wasserman and Maxwell. Roan, who has become a significant figure in pop music and entertainment, felt she could not remain with the agency after these troubling details came to light.
The Pop Star's Statement
In a statement posted to her Instagram Stories, Roan explained her decision to leave the agency. She emphasised the need to protect her team and stand up for what is right. 'I hold my team to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well,' Roan wrote. She added that no one in the industry should have to overlook actions that conflict with their moral values.
Roan continued by expressing her respect for the hardworking agents at the firm but insisted that she could not stay silent. 'Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity,' she stated. Her departure is one of the most significant backlashes Casey Wasserman has faced since the documents were released.

Details of the Leaked Correspondence
The documents released by the Department of Justice provided details of emails sent in 2003. In one exchange, Wasserman wrote to Maxwell, 'I think of you all the time. So, what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit?' In another message, Maxwell offered a massage that could 'drive a man wild'. There were also discussions about whether the weather would be foggy enough for a naked swim on the beach.
In addition to the emails, flight records placed Wasserman on Jeffrey Epstein's private aeroplane. A photograph showing Wasserman with both Maxwell and Epstein was also included in the recent release of files. These documents were made public due to a law requiring the government to open files related to the Epstein investigation.
Casey Wasserman Issues Apology
Following the release of the documents, Casey Wasserman issued a statement expressing regret. He noted that the emails were sent over 20 years ago, well before the public knew about Maxwell's crimes. 'I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light,' Wasserman said.
Wasserman also denied having any personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein himself. He explained that his presence on Epstein's plane was part of a humanitarian trip with the Clinton Foundation in 2002. 'I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them,' he added, emphasizing that his involvement was limited to that specific trip and not indicative of any ongoing connection.
