Yellow tint on iPhone 7

Some owners of the new iPhone model are reportedly seeing more yellowish and dimmer screens than previous models such as iPhone 6s, 6 and 5s.

There have been long discussion threads on the Apple support forum and other forums where many have reported the issue. While the brightness of all the iPhones was set to maximum, only the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were displaying the indifferent screen behaviour.

"I thought I was the only one facing this issue! I noticed the exact same thing where my 6s displays whites that are just neutral whites and my iPhone 7 tends to be on the warmer side. I don't know why but this effect where the iPhone 7 screen is dimmer reminds me of AMOLED displays." noted a user on the Apple forum.

"My idea would be that the glue between the LCD and the glass needs some time to fully dry but I'm not sure," said the user.

Even those who went in for replacement noticed the same issues on the new models. "I had my phone replaced for the same issue... weirdly enough, the new iPhone they gave me worked fine for a couple of minutes, but then after restoring from iCloud it went back to yellow," noted another user.

An easy fix is available to deal with the yellow tint issue. All you need to do is make a slight adjustment in the colour filters.

Here's how to get rid of the yellow hue from the screen.

The aforementioned steps will help you resolve the yellowish screen issue. OS X Daily has shared some photos before and after adjusting the hue and intensity, comparing the screens of iPhone 6s and 7. In iOS 10, Apple has introduced the ability to adjust the tint on the iPhone and iPad, a feature that is similar to how calibrating the screen on Mac works when in Expert mode.
