A paedophile who had sex with dogs and fantasised about child necrophilia has been jailed.

John Page, 46, admitted 22 offences relating to indecent images of children, drug possession and bestiality.

The former nurse was sentenced to three and a half years in prison at Southwark Crown Court on Monday (27 November).

The court heard how Page was first arrested at his flat in Kensington, London in February of last year by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers.

Investigators found indecent images of children on his computer equipment along with evidence he had shared the child porn with other paedophiles online.

Using the screen name "Wolfpupjohn", Page was also found to have responded enthusiastically to fantasies about rape and child necrophilia in online chat rooms.

Some 78 pictures of himself engaged in sexual acts with dogs were also discovered.

When NCA officers arrested him at his flat a second time they found the class A drug crystal methamphetamine and the class B drug ketamine.

Page, of Bridge Close, pleaded guilty to 17 counts of making and distributing indecent images of children, three counts of bestiality and two of drug possession.

Martin Ludlow, operations manager at the NCA, said: "John Page was part of a dangerous community of offenders who produce and share images of child and animal abuse in online chat rooms.

"They think hiding behind a username puts them beyond the reach of law enforcement but they're wrong.

"Officers at the National Crime Agency and its partners have the investigative and technical skills to find these offenders and bring them before the courts."
