Dwight Howard Scandal: Alleged Sexual Harassment On A Man Three Years Ago Resurfaces Amidst Ex-Wife's Expose
Ex-wife's emotional revelations reignite past controversies

Former NBA star Dwight Howard is back in the headlines as a three-year-old allegation of sexual harassment against a man resurfaces following his ex-wife's emotional exposé on social media.
Amy Luciani, who filed for divorce from Howard in July 2025 after just six months of marriage, shared tearful Instagram videos on 7 March 2026 accusing him of cocaine addiction and erratic behaviour that led to Child Protective Services (CPS) removing their stepdaughter from the home.
The Ex-Wife's Recent Allegations
Luciani, a rapper and former Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta cast member whose real name is Amber Rose Howard, appeared distraught in the videos, detailing multiple CPS visits to their Georgia home. She claimed the agency had been called three times in under two months due to incidents tied to Howard's alleged drug use, culminating in the child's removal on the latest occasion.
'My husband put himself in a position that resulted in CPS being called to our house 3X in less than two months but three days ago, they were called again and they left with our daughter,' she captioned one post. She further alleged Howard coached their 12-year-old son to lie to authorities after she refused to provide him an alibi during a police and CPS visit.
Luciani described calling the police on Howard three times in 14 months and expressed regret over reconciling after an initial divorce attempt, ignoring warnings about his lifestyle. These revelations echo earlier claims during their 2025 divorce, where she sought a protective order accusing him of spiking her drink with Molly disguised as tea, making her ill, and displaying obsessive, jealous tendencies that escalated to physical confrontations.
Revisiting the Dwight Howard Scandal
The fresh accusations have pulled the 2023 sexual harassment case back into focus. In July 2023, Stephen Harper filed a civil lawsuit against Howard, alleging sexual assault and battery during a July 2021 encounter at Howard's Georgia residence. Harper claimed the meeting, arranged after online exchanges starting in May 2021, turned non-consensual, involving false imprisonment and emotional distress.
He reported it to police in July 2022, identifying Howard as his ex-boyfriend, but no criminal charges followed. Howard denied the allegations, insisting it was consensual activity in a filing that included text message screenshots. The suit was dismissed with prejudice on 19 August 2024, preventing Harper from refiling the same claims in Gwinnett County Court.
At the time, Howard's team described the lawsuit as a profit-driven distortion of a private matter. The case drew attention to Howard's sexuality, with him stating on Instagram Live that his bedroom activities were his business.
Though he admitted to intimate relations with men while denying assault, gossip around this aspect often overshadowed the gravity of the claims, hardly a surprise in celebrity scandals.
A brief timeline: May 2021 – online contact begins; July 2021 – alleged incident; July 2023 – lawsuit filed; August 2024 – dismissed.
Howard's Denials and Broader Context
Howard has consistently rejected such accusations. In response to Luciani's 2025 protective order claims, his lawyer Gillian B. Fierer called them fabricated, labelling Luciani as volatile and assaultive. The family violence claims are 'patently false,' the statement read. Howard sought exclusive use of his Georgia mansion during the divorce, which cited an irretrievably broken marriage, with Luciani requesting alimony and asset division.
The 39-year-old, an eight-time All-Star who last played for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022, has five children with different women and a history of personal scrutiny affecting his career. Reports suggest his NBA comeback attempts have stalled amid locker room concerns.
