FDA Recalls Over 67,000 Power Stick Deodorants Over Manufacturing Concerns
Tens of thousands of deodorants were pulled out of Walmart, Amazon, and Dollar Tree.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an urgent recall of more than 67,000 cases of Power Stick roll-on deodorants after identifying significant manufacturing irregularities.
The voluntary recall, initiated by manufacturer AP Deauville, affects products sold nationwide across major retailers, including Walmart, Dollar Tree, and Amazon.
Which Power Stick Deodorants Are Affected?
The recall, announced on 10 July, includes several popular variants in 1.8oz (53ml) sizes:
- Over 21,000 cases of Power Stick for Her Roll-On Antiperspirant Deodorant Powder Fresh
- More than 22,400 cases of Power Stick Invisible Protection Roll-On Antiperspirant Deodorant Spring Fresh
- Over 23,400 cases of Power Stick Original Nourishing Invisible Protection Roll-On Antiperspirant Deodorant
Consumers can find exact lot numbers for the affected batches on the official FDA website.
Why Were These Deodorants Recalled?
According to the FDA, the recall was prompted by 'cGMP deviations,' which means the products did not fully comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations. These rules are in place to ensure that health and beauty products are consistently produced to a high standard, with correct ingredients, accurate strengths, and protection from contamination.
The manufacturing defects discovered could potentially compromise product quality, even if no injuries have been reported to date.
The FDA has not disclosed the precise nature of the manufacturing lapses and, so far, there have been no reports of harm. Nonetheless, the agency has stressed the importance of recalls in protecting the public.
'Recalls are important because they protect the public from products that may cause injury, illness or even death,' the FDA explained.
Where Were the Deodorants Sold—and How Much Did They Cost?
The recalled deodorants were widely available in the United States. At Walmart, a pack of three cost around £16 ($21), while Dollar Tree offered a box of 24 deodorants for approximately £24 ($30). The products were also available for order on Amazon.
Other personal care products from AP Deauville, such as shampoos or lotions, are not affected by this recall.
What Should Consumers Do Next?
Anyone who purchased one of the affected Power Stick roll-on deodorants is urged to stop using it immediately. The FDA advises disposing of the product safely or returning it to the place of purchase for a full refund. For further information or questions, consumers can contact AP Deauville directly.
No illnesses or injuries related to the recalled deodorants have been reported so far. However, the FDA urges continued vigilance, reminding the public that keeping informed about recalls is crucial for family safety and consumer confidence.
