The flash
The Flash episode 16 will pick up from where the series left off and delve into the time travel arc The CW

Upcoming episodes of the The Flash will reveal more about time travel issues and will dig deep into Dr Harrison Wells's endgame.

In the previous episode titled Out of Time, Dr Wells revealed himself as the Reverse Flash to Cisco Ramon. He told Ramon that he hailed from the distant future, told him that his real name was Eobard Thawne and then shockingly killed him.

Another revelation that Dr Wells made was that he had travelled back in time to kill Barry Allen, but instead Nora Allen got killed. Now, the time-traveller wants to make Barry go faster so that he can get home after killing The Flash.

Is Cisco really dead?

The most talked about scene of episode 15 was Dr Wells killing Cisco, after claiming that for him Cisco has been dead for centuries. But fans need not worry, as the time travel arc will likely act as a saviour for the genius.

Also, Cisco is seen in the promo for next week's episode, confirming the fact that he is very much alive.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg also hinted that Cisco is alive, He told TVLine: "Certain events occur that prevent Cisco from following along this same trajectory. So, watching how things play out but in a totally different way [sic]."

"Wells killed a dead guy," added Tom Cavanagh, who plays Dr Wells. "It's not a big deal. But, there's a genuine affection between them. That is not fake. In the current time, Thawne is truly invested, truly cares about Cisco, and is truly impressed by him. When we saw the two of them meet, he was on his side"

Cavanah added, "There's a protégé/mentorship thing happening. There's genuine affection when he says, 'You've shown me what it's like to have a son,' he's not saying it idly. He means it. At the same time, the guy has gotta get home."

Barry travels through time

In episode 15, we saw Barry break the time space continuum and travel through time because of his speed. And Kreisberg said that the upcoming episode will deal with "how much of [what took place in Episode 15] still happens and how much of it might possibly change."

Barry travelling through time could mean, Cisco will live, as episode 16 will explore "how certain events occur that prevent Cisco from following along the same trajectory" in his suspicions about Dr Wells, the producer teased.

Barry and Iris kiss

Barry and Iris West finally kissed in The flash episode 15 The CW Network

In Out of Time, Barry and Iris confessed their feelings for each other, and kissed, just before he tells her that he is The Flash. But soon, Barry finds himself speeding to stop the Weather Wizard and runs into his past.

"The advantage of having a show that dabbles in time travel [is] this episode allowed us to give people a tease and a taste [of some highly anticipated reveals]," Kreisberg said about Barry's time travel.

Candice Patton who plays Iris has teased that Barry's trip to the past thwarts the progress Barry and Iris made this week, but no matter how the timeline is changed, "at the root of how she feels is she loves Barry."

"That also makes it very complicated because she does love Eddie, but it's just in a different way." Meanwhile, the newbie reporter's investigation into Dr Wells "makes up a large part of Iris' arc for the rest of the season," Kreisberg stated.

Harrison Wells and Eddie Thawne connection

In episode 15, Dr Wells also confirmed that he is somehow related to Eddie Thawne, which fans will know more about in the upcoming episodes.

Kreisberg has confirmed that Wells is telling the truth about his connection to a distant relative of Eddie Thawne. "There's some great scenes coming between Tom and Rick [Cosnett]," he said and teased, "That starts to become a storyline."

A new promo shows Eddie punching Barry in the face for kissing his girlfriend Iris, and the evil version of the policeman, mercilessly pumps bullets into two of his fellow officers.

What will happen in Rouge time?

Episode 16 of The Flash is titled Rouge Time, which will air on 24 March on the CW.

The official synopsis of the next episode reads:

The Flash (Grant Gustin) learns that Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (guest star Dominic Purcell) have returned to Central City. This time Snart has brought along his baby sister Lisa (guest star Peyton List) to help wreak havoc on the city.

In the upcoming episodes, fans will get to see numerous flashback scenes. "In Episode 17 (airing April 1), we're going to get a flashback from [Dr. Wells'] point of view, which we're really excited about," said Kreisberg. "And in [another] episode, everyone's going to flash back to when Barry was in the coma. So, you'll see that time from Wells' point of view, Caitlin's point of view, and Joe, and Iris.... You get to fill in a little bit more of the backstory."

Another promo teases that Barry may find out Dr Wells's true identity.

In the promo, Caitlin Snow is seen asking Barry, "What does Harrison Wells and Reverse Flash have to do with each other?" To which Barry replies, "They are the same person."

The promo also shows Dr Wells saying, "I promise you Barry, you will die." And by the looks of it, everyone in Star Labs will figure out that the doctor is the man in the yellow suit.

Stay tuned for a thrilling time travel ride, with The Flash, that airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on The CW.
