Forbes Celebrity Billionaire List: Taylor Swift's $2bn Fortune Makes Her Second Richest Female Celebrity After Oprah
Pop star's music catalogue and Eras Tour earnings drive $400m wealth jump.

Taylor Swift's net worth has climbed to $2 billion (£1.5 billion), making her the second-wealthiest female celebrity in the world behind only Oprah Winfrey, according to Forbes' 2026 World's Billionaires list published on 10 March.
The pop star ranked seventh on Forbes' celebrity billionaires index, which this year expanded to 22 names with a combined fortune of $48.1 billion (£36 billion). That is a considerable leap from 2025, when 18 celebrities held a collective $39 billion (£29.2 billion).
Swift's $2 billion valuation represents a $400 million (£300 million) increase from her $1.6 billion (£1.2 billion) figure on last year's list. Forbes attributed the jump largely to her music catalogue, which the publication valued at $900 million (£674 million), alongside approximately $100 million (£75 million) in real estate holdings and ongoing earnings from the record-breaking Eras Tour.
Eras Tour and Catalogue Value Behind Taylor Swift's Billionaire Rise
The Eras Tour, which wrapped up in December 2024 after 149 shows across five continents, grossed more than $2 billion (£1.5 billion) in ticket sales and drew over 10 million concertgoers. It remains the highest-grossing concert tour of all time.
Swift also released her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, in October 2025. The record sold more than 4 million copies in its first week in the United States, making it the fastest-selling album in history. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry later confirmed it as the best-selling global album of 2025.
Forbes noted that Swift is the first person to achieve billionaire status primarily through songwriting and performing. Unlike several other names on the list who built fortunes through fashion empires, tech investments, or brand licensing deals, Swift's wealth is rooted almost entirely in her recorded music and live performances.
Among the female celebrities on this year's list, Winfrey led with an estimated $3.2 billion (£2.4 billion). Swift sat second at $2 billion (£1.5 billion), with Kim Kardashian third at $1.7 billion (£1.27 billion). Rihanna and newly minted billionaire Beyoncé Knowles-Carter rounded out the women on the ranking at $1 billion (£750 million) each. Beyoncé's entry made her only the fifth musician ever to reach the ten-figure threshold.

Spielberg Tops Forbes Celebrity Billionaire Rankings for Second Year

Director Steven Spielberg held the top spot on the celebrity billionaires list for a second consecutive year with an estimated fortune of $7.1 billion (£5.3 billion). Forbes cited his status as the highest-grossing film director of all time, his production company Amblin Entertainment, and a long-standing profit-sharing arrangement with Universal Studios theme parks tied to rides based on his films.
George Lucas followed at $5.2 billion (£3.9 billion), with Michael Jordan third at $4.3 billion (£3.2 billion). Jay-Z placed sixth at $2.5 billion (£1.87 billion), one position ahead of Swift.
The 2026 list welcomed four newcomers. Beyoncé, tennis great Roger Federer, music producer Dr. Dre, and filmmaker James Cameron all crossed the $1 billion mark for the first time. Spielberg, who first appeared on the Forbes list in 1994, recently completed his EGOT after winning a Grammy in February 2026 for his producing work on the Music by John Williams documentary, according to E! News.
The broader Forbes World's Billionaires list featured a record 3,428 individuals with a combined net worth exceeding $20 trillion (£15 trillion). Elon Musk topped the overall ranking at $839 billion (£629 billion). Forbes senior editor Chase Peterson-Withorn described 2026 as 'the year of the billionaire,' noting that the planet added more than one new billionaire per day over the past 12 months, fuelled largely by an AI-driven stock market boom.
Swift placed 2,052nd on the overall billionaires ranking. Her third single from The Life of a Showgirl, 'Elizabeth Taylor,' was released on 9 March, one day before the Forbes list went live.
