In a chilling update on the 'Today' show host Savannah Guthrie's missing mother's case, investigators revealed that they found signs of forced entry at the broadcast journalist's mother's home in Arizona.

Nancy Guthrie's mysterious disappearance has shaken the nation, and authorities now believe that the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie has been taken against her will. Nancy Guthrie was last seen at around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday night near her Catalina Foothills home in Arizona, and was reported missing on Sunday, 1 February, the Pima County Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie did not leave her residence on her own volition, and an investigation into her disappearance is underway. After authorities uncovered 'suspicious circumstances' at her Arizona home, Nancy's disappearance, which started off as a missing person case, has now turned into a crime investigation.

Health Concerns Heighten Alarm

Nancy Guthrie reportedly has mobility and health issues, prompting the authorities to believe that she was least likely to voluntarily leave her Tucson home, per News Nation. Law officials said that Nancy also takes daily medication, which, according to her family, could be fatal if missed.

Chris Nanos, Pima County Sheriff, ruled out dementia in connection with her disappearance, saying that Nancy was 'sharp as a tack.' and that Nancy doesn't have any 'cognitive issues.' Nanos also described her as 'very alert,' 'of good, sound mind,' but nowhere near in good physical health. Nanos shared, 'The family wants everyone to know that this isn't someone who just wandered off.'

It was also earlier reported by People that Nancy suffers from hypertension and cardiac issues, and has a pacemaker implanted. Nancy's health conditions, which point to an extremely low probability of Nancy leaving her home voluntarily, make her disappearance all the more urgent.

Nanos said, 'If she's alive right now, her meds are vital. I can't stress that enough. It's been better than 24 hours, and the family tells us if she doesn't have those meds, it can become fatal.'

Signs of a Forced Entry

In a recent development shared by AP News from a source, investigators have found signs of forced entry at her home near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue in the Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson. Specific evidence was found in Nancy's home that indicates a kidnapping. A few of Nancy's personal items, such as her wallet, mobile phone, and car, were all at the scene during her disappearance.

According to the report, investigators are in the process of looking into surveillance videos from nearby homes, as well as license plate cameras and data from cellphone towers in the area, the AP News source, who asked to stay anonymous, revealed.

Savannah Guthrie asked for prayers to help bring back her mother, whom she referred to as 'a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant' in a social media post. The host asked supporters, 'Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. Bring her home.'

The mystery of the abduction of the 84-year-old continues to baffle authorities. Investigation is ongoing to find the Today host's mother.
