Hackney Father Roland McKoy Charged with Murder of Baby Daughter and Mother

A father has been charged with murdering his one-year-old daughter and her mother at their Hackney home.

Roland McKoy is accused of killing one-year-old Real-Jahzarah McKoy and 45-year-old Valerie Forde at their east London home on March 31.

The 53-year-old suspect was charged after leaving hospital on Wednesday, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 23-month-old baby girl and her mother were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Post-mortem examinations of Forde, a youth support worker for the Hackney Marsh Partnership, revealed that she died of multiple injuries.

Cause of death for Real-Jahzarah was given by the pathologist as incised wounds to the neck.

McKoy will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court on 11 April.
