HTC has finally some good news for owners of its large screen smartphone, the One Max. The company has begun the Android Lollipop upgrade for smartphones launched with the Jelly Bean software two years ago.
Based on Android 5.0 Lollipop (Sense v6.0) and ROM version 4.13.410.7 the OTA update weighs in at 760.15MB for users in Europe. According to XDA forum members the upgrade has so far hit some regions including Poland, the Czech Republic, France and Asia. It should not take too long for the update to become available in other regions.
"OTA for T6_UL European version available in Poland, 4.13.401.7 about 760MB," confirms a forum member.
If you are in the aforementioned regions, you can manually check for the update from Settings>> About phone>> Software update>> Check now.
As the release note suggests, the following are notable changes the Lollipop firmware adds.
- Android 5.0 Lollipop update
- Lock screen and Notification: New Lollipop UI style with enhanced privacy features
- Recent apps: Supporting multiple pages
- Addition of search function within settings
For those who have not received the OTA notification and are looking for a manual installation method using the stock firmware, the forum members have captured and shared the OTA link.
