Israeli Woman Goes Viral After News Report Falsely Claims She Was Executed in Iran: 'I'm Here, I'm Alive'
Noya Zion is alive and has never been to Iran, yet Israel's national television reported she was killed in the protests

An Israeli woman is going viral after posting a video showing a news report claiming that she was executed in Iran. Noya Zion was in shock after seeing her photos being broadcast on Israel's national television, saying she was one of the victims killed in the protest in Iran.
The video has revealed how the Israeli regime allegedly spreads fake news about the recent unrest and the Islamic government's response to it, prompting criticism and debate among viewers.
False News Report
As reported by Press TV, Noya Zion was in shock when she saw herself on TV after a news report from Israel's national television, Channel 12 News, claimed that Zion was among the victims killed in the protest in Iran.
Along with her photo, the headline read: 'Four Jews Killed in Protests in Iran.' The report also falsely identified her as Sanaz Javaherian, an alleged demonstrator whom the channel claimed had been arrested and beaten to death by Iranian security forces.
Zion immediately captured the news through a video and posted it on her Instagram. The post she wrote on her language, 'Wow, can you explain how this happened? And what happened? You didn't understand from the stories.'
She also exclaimed in the video, 'I never thought this would happen to me in my life... I'm in my house!' Zion added that she has never been to Iran, 'I'm here, I'm alive, sitting at home, and in half an hour I'm going to training. I've never been to Iran in my life.'
Zion also said, 'My photo was broadcast as if I had been executed.'
Noya Zion Father Reacted to the Video
On Facebook, Zion's father has shared his thoughts and taken a more lighthearted approach to the situation.
He speculated mix-up and confusion given that her daughter has a resemblance to Israeli actress Niv Sultan, known for her role in the propaganda thriller series Tehran.
He wrote: 'Maybe she looks like Niv Sultan; maybe Niv Sultan looks like her. Peace to both.'
He added, 'In any case, our Noya wasn't in Tehran last week... Never mind the troll on Facebook with hundreds of thousands of followers; there are partners in the trolling. Channel 12, a channel of fools.'
Channel 12 has not yet issued a public correction or statement regarding the broadcast.
False Broadcast Sparked Criticism
Zion's story quickly drew criticism online, sparking heated discussion across social media platforms, particularly X. Many users pointed to the incident as either a glaring journalistic error or an example of what they described as Israeli propaganda gone wrong.
One user commented, 'Wild. The lengths they go through to lie,' while another wrote, 'Israeli propaganda is so efficient it even kills its own settlers on TV.'
Others were more direct in their criticism, with one post stating, 'This is pure propaganda. Israeli media fabricates stories, uses random faces, and lies to fuel fear. When the truth doesn't fit the narrative, they invent it. That's why their claims deserve scrutiny, not blind belief.'
Another remark read, 'An Israeli woman learns from television that she has been "killed" in Iran... a dull, stupid Zionist propaganda ploy.'
Amid the backlash, some observers reacted with dark humour. One user quipped that the moment felt 'like something straight out of an episode of Black Mirror.'
Iran and Israel Conflict
On 8 January 2026, the long-standing hostility between Iran and Israel shifted from the battlefield to a struggle over internal stability and regional containment.
As Iran faced its most severe domestic crisis in decades, the government implemented a near-total nationwide internet blackout to mask a lethal crackdown on protesters, while simultaneously accusing Israel and the US of 'foreign-instigated' terrorism to destabilize the state.
From the Israeli perspective, the focus was on ensuring that the Iranian regime—distracted by revolt and economic collapse—could not launch a desperate military strike to rally national support, leading Israel to increase its military readiness and continue precision strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Ultimately, the day was defined by a massive loss of life within Iran and a high-stakes standoff where Israel sought to degrade Iran's regional influence while the Iranian leadership fought to maintain its grip on power.
