One thing common about Kate Middleton, Kim Kardashian and Tulisa Contostavlos is that whatever they wear becomes an issue of national importance.

For the diamond jubilee celebrations pageant, Kate Middleton wore the bright red Alexander McQueen teamed with a Sylvia Fletcher hat, a scarf made of Strathearn tartan and nude shoes.

For the X Factor auditions in Liverpool in July 2011, Tulisa Contostavlos wore the same Alexander McQueen outfit, the only difference being that it was sleeveless. Tulisa braided her hair and let it lie on her left shoulder. The same outfit was worn before by Kim Kardashian on April 2011. According to the New York Daily News, Kardashian wore the dress sans sleeves and with sexier accessories, including sky-high, snakeskin platform pumps and a heavy silver necklace. Instead of the royal look Kate gave to the dress, Kardashian looked saucy in the McQueen outfit. Kim wore it as she filmed scenes for her reality show in New York.

So who wore it better? Kate, with full sleeves and the Sylvia Fletcher hat, adorned a formal look in the attire. Kim accessorized and gave a saucy appeal to the dress. Tulisa tried looking cute in the attire with her hair braided. The dress comes from McQueen's pre-Fall 2011 collection and was specially tailored by McQueen designer Sarah Burton.

Apparently, Kate had seen pictures of Kim and Tulisa wearing it before and wanted to use the same outfit for a very special occasion.

"Kate saw pictures of Kim and Tulisa wearing the outfit on different occasions last summer. She liked the look so much she secretly tucked it away for the Jubilee and asked designers for a modified version with sleeves and a longer skirt," the Daily Star reports.

"It immediately reminded me of Kate's all-red patriotic ensemble from Calgary, on her final day in Canada last year. I was assuming that she would go for red, white or blue. I love that it's bright and vibrant and a nice contrast to the weather. It's a little safe in my opinion but then I expected that. It is after all the Queen's big day and the Queen should really take centre stage, not Kate and her outfit," katemiddletonstyle.org reports.
